(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 Superior League 4 intra-divisional showdown, Warp Speed Warriors squeaked by a tough *Lakeview Lakers IV team by a score of 78.05 to 72.85, extending the winning streak for Warp Speed Warriors to 3 games.
Warp Speed Warriors were led to their 5.20 point victory by a 32.95 point effort from Jay Cutler, who tore apart the Buffalo Bills defense for 359 passing yards in addition to 30 rushing yards. With this performance, Cutler was the number 3 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 16.30 point effort from Pierre Thomas, who got by the Detroit Lions defense for 77 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 26 receiving yards. "This was a confidence booster," Warp Speed Warriors coach Jason said. *Lakeview Lakers IV were helped out in a losing cause by a 18.70 point effort from Antonio Bryant, who beat the San Diego Chargers defense for 127 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Bryant was the number 2 ranked wide receiver for week 16. They also got help from a 16.20 point effort from Maurice Jones-Drew, who got by the Indianapolis Colts defense for 91 rushing yards in addition to 71 receiving yards. "We didn't get the big breaks today," *Lakeview Lakers IV coach Dane Strausz said. Compounding the issue, *Lakeview Lakers IV could have scored 90.70 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Dane Strausz left key players like Shaun Hill and his corresponding 23.30 points on the bench. Warp Speed Warriors took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 7 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for Warp Speed Warriors to 9-7, and drops *Lakeview Lakers IV to a record of 7-8. | ||
