(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 Michigan League 7 intra-divisional showdown, *VINCERO squeaked by a tough *Cannonball Catchers team by a score of 114.25 to 104.30, behind the support of 70,414 faithful fans.
*VINCERO were led to their 9.95 point victory by a 30.95 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger, who beat the Tennessee Titans defense for 331 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 14 rushing yards. They also got help from a 17.40 point effort from Ricky Williams, who snuck past the Kansas City Chiefs defense for 34 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 50 receiving yards. "This team has overcome a lot of adversity," *VINCERO coach Richard Smith said. *Cannonball Catchers were helped out in a losing cause by a 23.80 point effort from JaMarcus Russell, who got by the Houston Texans defense for 236 passing yards and 2 passing TDs. They also got help from a 17.90 point effort from Brandon Marshall, who beat the Buffalo Bills defense for 129 receiving yards. "They wanted it more than we did," *Cannonball Catchers coach Fred Aker said. Causing further embarrassment, *Cannonball Catchers could have scored 125.20 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Fred Aker left key players like Nate Kaeding and his corresponding 12.00 points on the bench. This brings the record for *VINCERO to 8-7, and drops *Cannonball Catchers to a record of 6-9. | ||
