Evil Monkeys were led to their 12.49 point victory by a 23.80 point effort from Reggie Wayne, who beat the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for 108 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Wayne was the number 4 ranked wide receiver for week 16. They also got help from a 23.74 point effort from Drew Brees, who tore apart the Detroit Lions defense for 351 passing yards and 2 passing TDs.
"It was a total team effort," Evil Monkeys coach Dave Torreano said.
TEAM MRC were helped out in a losing cause by a 21.15 point effort from Tony Gonzalez, who snuck past the Miami Dolphins defense for 64 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Gonzalez was the number 4 ranked tight end for week 16. They also got help from a 19.00 point effort from Eric Weddle, who beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense for 9 tackles.
"We came out flat," TEAM MRC coach Anthony Grega said.
Compounding the issue, TEAM MRC could have scored 219.60 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Anthony Grega left key players like Thomas Davis and his corresponding 22.00 points on the bench.
This brings the record for Evil Monkeys to 12-3, and drops TEAM MRC to a record of 11-4.
