Mavericks today announced the signing of a new QB from the Bulldogs. After the lose on Sunday owner Hemingway was upset not clinching the division title, So he traded away his back up QB for a starter and included in the deal a 1st round player to be named in the 09 season's Draft. When Asked about the move Owner Hemingway stated " that In the past 7 years we haven't had a first round draft pick so why start now. " If i can win it all this season then i gotta go for it period" My hatered for God's of the Game Goes Deep, they have been a thorn in my side since they got here! but not this year We plan on winning it all!!!... Stronge words by a desperate team owner going into the playoffs time will only tell. |

| A.P. News Wire It’s kickoff time for the 2008 FFFL season! With another draft day behind us and the starting rosters now submitted this reporter will now resume the weekly predictions of each match up. Please, by no means should you use this information to place bets in Vegas…..And now, here we go….. TNT at The Bulldogs: New owner Dan Dymond has his work cut out for him with his Week 1 matchup against the ‘Dogs. Although Coach Martin’s team is coming off of a 4-10 season, the Bulldogs did take home a 3rd place trophy. The only other time that the Bulldogs finished with a losing record they won the league title the following year. TNT has Addai and Colston, the ‘Dogs have Romo and T.O. Final Score: Bulldogs 120 – TNT 106. Gods of the Game at Harts Heros: Coach Harts team is coming off back-to-back Toilet Bowl Titles, but this year may finally be a year to talk about. With one of the best backfields in the FFFL he may find his team in unfamiliar territory, first place late in the season. Coach Weiss will lean on old man Favre as well as a solid receiving corp but it may not be enough in Week 1. Final Score: Heros 102 – GOTG 90. Mavericks at Wolfpack: Coach Vlk’s Pack lost in the championship game last season and looks to take the next step this year and win it all. With the hard hitting Brandon Jacobs and QB Tom Brady the Wolfpack can make a strong case. The Mavericks and Coach Hemingway may be another story. The Front Office Management wrote down the wrong date on their calendar and missed the league draft. Now they try to make a title run with Tavaris Jackson at QB, but hope Randy Moss can carry the load. Final Score: Wolfpack 96 – Mavs 88 Bigfoot at Lombardi Lives: New name, new outlook for Coach Lotter and this team may have what it takes to win it all. His teams have usually come up short but a good draft has his spirits high. Coach Bryant has also been patient in waiting for another title, his last coming in ’02. Team Bigfoot has a tough receiving unit as well as a top QB. Can Lombardi stop this train in Week 1? Final Score: Bigfoot 114 – Lombardi 90. Rock the League at Dutchie: The best for last. The defending champs made due in the draft, filling spots with what was available. At first it didn’t look good. But now Coach Rock pulled the usual magic and has a team that could quietly march toward the playoffs. Coach Bryants Dutchie team will put up most of its points with Tomlinson and Peyton Manning, but will it be enough? Final Score: Dutchie 102 – Rock the League 101. |

Team Reddogs, oops, I mean team Bigfoot. Coach Lotter has made a name change in the off-season in hoping that it will change his fortunes. His team has a 47-52 overall record. The team's best finish was an appearance in the 2006 Title Game, yet the team finished 8-6 overall. With a new name and new outlook, as well as 3 second round draft picks, Coach Lotter may finally have a season that ends with a trophy. Harts Heros. Coach Hart joined the league in 2004 and immediately won 10 games. In the following three seasons he has won a total of 12 more. With the first overall pick in this years draft he may have his best chance to make a run...literally. With Steven Jackson as the franchise player Team Hart now has a chance to pair him with a top back and possibly have the best backfield tandem in the league. Unless he picks a kicker.... Finally, Lombardi Lives. Coach Bryant won the title in 2002, then won back-to back Toilet Bowl Championships in '04 & '05 (even though his team should have won the league title in '05 when his team finished 11-5. That's what happens with one bad week in the playoffs). This year Team Lombardi has the 4th overall pick, and with Marion Barber already in the backfield this team may also have one of the better tandems in the FFFL. The draft is Sunday at 6pm. League Fees will go up to $40, up from $35. The entry fee remains $7 to pay for the site, the remaining $33 per owner will go into the league pot. Trade Fees will go up from one dollar per trade to $1 per player involved in the trade. And the league will add back the weekly High Scorer winnings of $5. This gives everyone the chance of winning something throughout the season (unless your team really blows). Scoring Changes - Additional 1 pt per catch. This applies to any offensive position. Also, the loss of a point at the QB position due to a sack has been voted out. Waiver Rule - All owners were in agreement that the waiver wire should go from Tuesday to Thursday in order of worst to best and then again from Friday to noon Sunday from best to worst. This gives all owners a fair crack at picking up players during the week. Finally, the draft will remain on-line but will be at Joel Weiss's house. The Owners who cannot make it can log on to the site as usual and make their picks when it is their turn on the clock. A poll will be posted for all owners to pick the weekend of the draft. |
