(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 4YOU PLAYMAKERS LEAGUE intra-divisional classic, Dragon Slayers beat a strong Reigning Steel team by a score of 155.65 to 135.40, extending the winning streak for Dragon Slayers to 7 games. With their 155.65 points, Dragon Slayers is now the proud record-holder of the 6th-highest weekly point total in league history.
Dragon Slayers were led to their 20.25 point victory by a 36.15 point effort from Matt Cassel, who beat the Arizona Cardinals defense for 345 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 19 rushing yards. With this performance, Cassel was the number 4 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 23.90 point effort from Steven Jackson, who beat the San Francisco 49ers defense for 108 rushing yards in addition to 11 receiving yards. "We sent a message here today," Dragon Slayers coach $Jay G said. Reigning Steel were helped out in a losing cause by a 37.70 point effort from Tyler Thigpen, who beat the Miami Dolphins defense for 320 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 57 rushing yards. With this performance, Thigpen was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 23.70 point effort from Antonio Bryant, who beat the San Diego Chargers defense for 127 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. "We came up a little short," Reigning Steel coach Ryan Stuber said. Causing further embarrassment, Reigning Steel could have scored 160.90 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Ryan Stuber left key players like Dominic Rhodes and his corresponding 20.90 points on the bench. Reigning Steel drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 10 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for Dragon Slayers to 11-5, and drops Reigning Steel to a record of 9-7. | ||||
